Ronald Glensor, PhD, is a professional trainer and subject matter expert in the fields of community policing, substance abuse, police supervision and leadership. During the course of his career, he has presented training to more than 500 law enforcement agencies in the United States, Great Britain and Australia. A retired deputy chief of police for the Reno City Police Department with more than 30 years of experience, he oversaw administrative division which includes internal affairs, information technology, research and planning and fiscal affairs (59 million dollar budget), and previously commanded the Patrol Division, Detective Division, Special Operations, Training and Robbery Homicide.

He researched and co-authored several publications including: Hope and Harmony: How Seven Native Communities Reduced Crime and Violence (2001); Community Policing and Problem Solving: Strategies and Practices 5th Edition (2007); Policing Communities: Understanding Crime and Solving Problems (2000); Improving Perceptions of Police with Community Policing (1993); Community Policing and Multiculturalism (1993); and Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving: A Framework for Implementation (1996).

He received his Ph.D., from the University of Nevada-Reno, and is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police, from the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), FBI National Academy, and Nevada Peace Officer Standards and Training. He was the 1997 recipient of the Police Executive Research Forum’s Gary P. Hayes Award. He is an adjunct professor with the University of Nevada-Reno in the criminal justice field.
